The global organization World Vision is set to launch a “Social Innovations Challenge” on January 2019. The initiative is designed to address social problems in PH.
The World Vision, a child-focused development agency, is set to launch a contest dubbed as “The Social Innovations Challenge” on January 2019. The contest is an open competition for entrepreneurs who will initiate breakthrough-solutions or innovations that will address prevailing social problems in the communities that are being currently assisted by World Vision in the Philippines.
“We need to do something on issues that are too big for one child, one family, or even one village to tackle alone”, said Cecile Corvera of World Vision.
According to the group, children are the ones who are greatly affected by the challenges in the communities. It will be difficult for them to endure if things remain the same- especially problems on accessing their basic needs such as water, food, and education.
“Everything that we are doing is to help children thrive eventually in the communities where they live,” underscored Corvera, who is the Business Development Manager of the organization.
The country’s entrepreneurs must get themselves involved in World Vision’s Social Innovation Challenge because the efforts will eventually change the lives of people for the better.
The Social Innovation Challenge focuses on creating an idea that can change the lives of many for the years to come. Entrepreneurs will also have a chance to launch their idea in communities where World Vision is carrying actual life-changing efforts.
The solution which will be selected as a winner will be polished, funded, and implemented with a technical and advisory support from World Vision and its local experts.
About World Vision
World Vision envisions a better world and environment for children. Through the Social Innovations Challenge, it hopes to spark brand new ideas and practices that will inspire people and motivate entrepreneurs to come up with sustainable solutions that will bring change in the country — one community at a time.
The World Vision is a global Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation dedicated to working with children, families, and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. The organization serves all people, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender.
“While helping children is at the heart of World Vision’s commitment, we also want to bring in the participation of many people by doing their share through ideas and initiiatives that will help address the social problems and challenges in the communities, stressed Rommel Fuerte, executive director of World Vision.
“Through the Social Innovation Challenge, we encourage new ideas and solutions to improve the lives of Filipino children and their families”, Fuerte added.
